mmer transfer window. Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs leading the market, while Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have also completed major deals.

The following list includes only players who joined Premier League clubs, ranked by reported transfer fee as of 22 August 2026.

1. Enzo Fernández – Chelsea to Manchester City

Reported fee: £125 million

Enzo Fernández became the most expensive signing of the 2026/27 Premier League season after Manchester City completed a reported £125 million deal with Chelsea.

7. Sávio – Manchester City to Tottenham Hotspur

Transfer Window Verdict

The 2026/27 Premier League transfer window was one of the most expensive in football history.

Premier League clubs spent approximately £3.46 billion, surpassing the previous summer record. Manchester City were the biggest spenders, investing around £458 million as they rebuilt their squad under Enzo Maresca. Chelsea spent approximately £349 million, while Tottenham invested around £303 million.

The biggest individual transfer was Manchester City's £125 million move for Enzo Fernández, followed by Liverpool's £123 million deal for Bradley Barcola. Morgan Rogers and Elliot Anderson also passed the £110 million mark.

Tottenham were another major force in the market, with Tonali, Sávio and Mateus Fernandes all featuring in the top 10.

Perhaps the biggest story, however, was the sheer scale of Premier League spending. Four transfers exceeded £100 million, while clubs across the league continued to invest heavily in both established stars and young prospects.
